Follistatin-344 is a synthetic 344 amino acid sequence analogous to the naturally occurring secreted protein ‘Follistatin’, which is active in binding members of the TGF-beta family1. Follistatin-344 is naturally expressed in the pituitary, the ovaries, and in the endometrium2. By inhibiting TGF-beta proteins’ access to specific signalling receptors, Follistatin-344 suppresses the secretion of the pituitary hormone ‘follicle stimulating hormone’ (FSH)3, and undermines the activity of TGF-beta ligands BMP-2, BMP-4, BMP-6, BMP-7, myostatin, GDF-11, and TGF-Beta14.

Follistatin-344 is a synthetic 344 amino acid sequence analogous to the naturally occurring secreted protein ‘Follistatin’, which is active in binding members of the TGF-beta family1. Follistatin-344 is naturally expressed in the pituitary, the ovaries, and in the endometrium2. By inhibiting TGF-beta proteins’ access to specific signalling receptors, Follistatin-344 suppresses the secretion of the pituitary hormone ‘follicle stimulating hormone’ (FSH)3, and undermines the activity of TGF-beta ligands BMP-2, BMP-4, BMP-6, BMP-7, myostatin, GDF-11, and TGF-Beta14.

Myostatin Blocker and Hypertrophy Stimulator

Follistatin-344 plays an important role in the development of skeletal myocytes5, allowing for the overproduction of muscle cells through the body. As a myostatin blocker, had the capacity to stimulate significant muscle fiber hypertrophy in animal test subjects6.

Follistatin-344 has been applied as a therapeutic agent in diseases that cause muscle wasting, like Duchenne’s muscular dystrophy and GAA deficiency7. By applying Follistatin-344 during the early development of these conditions, animal test subjects were able to avoid muscle-wasting symptoms and began to accumulate muscle mass, achieving a better-developed musculature. As a result of this treatment, subjects were observed to have much-improved motor control and physical ability8.

Product Comparison

Follistatin-344, ACV2RB, and Myostatin Propeptide have very mechanisms of action, all leading to significant gains in muscle mass. Choice between the two agents is largely decided by researcher preference, though tests have demonstrated that animal subjects administered with ACV2RB have developed spontaneous bleeding in the nose and gums, which may be counter to research outcomes. Myostatin Propeptide acts as a free myostatin-binding agent, allowing for the uninhibited action of myocytes to produce muscle.

Follistatin-344 shows synergy with members of the GHRP (e.g. GHRP-2, GHRP-6, Ipamorelin), and GHRH (e.g. CJC 1295 with DAC, CJC 1295 no DAC, Fragment 176-191, AOD 9604, Hexarelin, Sermorelin) families, allowing the additional muscle cells produced as a result of Follistatin-344 administration to be met with a pulse of GH, assisting with their growth. IGF-1 LR3, IGF-1 DES, MGF, and PEG MGF are also recommended in a combination with Follistatin-344 for the achievement of significant muscle gains.
